According to the Tri-City Herald, state Rep. Brad Klippert, R-Kennewick, wants no other flag besides the Stars and Stripes, the Washington state flag and maritime signal flags to fly on state ferries.
Klippert has introduced a bill that would end the state ferry system’s practice of occasionally flying other flags. They have included “12” flags in support of the Seattle Seahawks and a rainbow-striped flag symbolizing gay pride.
“I have no problem with the Seahawks flag,” he told the Herald on Wednesday. “People across all policy beliefs support our Seahawks, but that is not true for gay pride flags.
Yikes , remember when the satanists came over from Seattle saying if someone can pray a satanist can do their thing too . I guess that is what we have come down to , everyone has their own thing , I guess if it was a Christian flag we would see a lot of resentment too , I guess an American flag only makes sense , I wish we act more like Americans though .
Me too. Wouldn’t it be great if we Americans could support each other, no matter what our differences: race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Right, Mick?
Praise God Glenn , welcome aboard , from your previous comments did not know this was part of your thinking . I served on the Kitsap Human Rights Council and the Equity Council in my school district some years ago . Creed and religious beliefs I would suggest are more then etc though , as some other basic rights that often seem to be at odds with each other in this changing culture . We do not have to agree , and I would hope we would not promote using government to promote one over the other , but we should all support our rights of each other and the government that is suppose to protect . those rights . We can only be as free as our neighbor is . My freedom relies on how much I support yours .
must be GAY!!!+
Too bad the suggestion had to come from someone who opposes gay rights. It’s not a bad idea, though. And it certainly makes it clear that no advertising flags will ever hang on the ferries! That, alone, will make it acceptable to me!
