Canal Project Jinxed?

May 7th, 2009 by ed friedrich

The Hood Canal Bridge closure got off to a shaky start, at least regarding those trying to navigate around it.

Last Thursday it was 70 degrees and drop-dead gorgeous. The bridge closed at midnight. Pretty much ever since, it’s been like the monsoons in southeast Asia. The passenger ferries had to wait out the wind on a couple mornings and the detour route via Highway 101 has been closed by wrecks or downed trees and wires four or five times.
