Friday, March 13, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. — The quarterly art walk in Old Town Silverdale features artists and artworks, both professional and student, plus free food and a wine tasting. Enjoy the evening.

Tuesday, March 17, 11 a.m. —Kids story times at Barnes & Noble, Kitsap Mall.

Tuesday, March 17, 7 p.m. — Meeting of The  Compassionate Friends, self-help group of parents, grandparents and siblings who have experienced the death of a child, grandchild or sibling. Meets in the Iris Room, downstairs from the west side (flagpole) entrance at the Silverdale Harrison Hospital.

Sunday, March 8, 5 p.m. — Central Kitsap Band Boosters holds its 17th Annual Auction. Features performances by the CK High School Jazz Band, CK High String Ensemble and a silent auction.  The Live Auction will offer an African safari, Taiko Drums  (hand made by band members), tickets to sports and performance events, and much more. Show features one-of-a-kind artisan jewelry and wearable art created by local northwest artists, who will attend the reception Friday night and again be at the gallery from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. the following day. Saturday, Feb. 7, 11 a.m. — Barnes and Noble Bookstore will host a family story time in celebration of Valentine’s Day. During the normal Saturday morning story time, booksellers will choose favorite stories to read from popular titles. Valentine’s craft-making will follow, with cookies for the participants. Free. Saturday, Feb. 7, 8 p.m. — The Hayburners play their jazz/bluegrass fusion at The Global Bean Coffeehouse, Myhre Road.

Sunday, Feb 8 — Members of the religious school of Congregation Beth-Hatikvah will celebrate the holiday, Tu B’Shevat with a tree planting work party along Clear Creek Trail. Tu B’Shevat is the birthday of the trees, a time to celebrate the cycle of nature. Traditionally, money is sent to plant trees in Israel, but the school chose to plant trees along the Clear Creek Trail as a way to be involved in the community while celebrating the holiday.

Saturday, Jan. 31, noon to 2 p.m. — “Spin Your Meter Backwards” – free workshop on solar grid-tied electricity.  Topics covered will include the new federal solar tax credits as well as the current status of the Washington state production incentives.  Financing programs will be discussed as well as the availability of new solar products, including thin film PV modules and micro-inverters. Today, Jan. 23  9 a.m to noon — Trail cleanup party to cut back brush and make trail repairs on the Clear Creek Trail. Meet at 9 a.m. at the Interpretive Center for coffee and directions.  Bring your favorite work gloves, study shoes and your scotch brush whacking tools. We will also bring tools and gloves.

Wednesday, Jan. 21 — Join the 5:30 p.m. celebration for the grand reopening of West Sound Bank’s Silverdale branch at its new location, 3035 Bucklin Hill Road.

Sunday, Jan. 11 — Deadline is Sunday to sign up for a free Jan 14 open house for Kids and Cancer. Designed to help children whose loved one is experiencing cancer. Evening will include art and music therapy, education, dinner, and support. Event is from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Garden Room, 1st Floor, Harrison Medical Center Silverdale. 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan 13 — Mothers of Preschoolers, MOPS, are invited to meet, form friendships and give and receive encouragement for facing their challenges while their children are cared for in age-appropriate groups. For mothers of children from pregnancy through kindergarten. Place: Crosby Chapel, 16404 NW Church Rd, Seabeck WA 98380 Cost: $3.

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13 — Silverdale Friends of  the Library sponsor a used book sale every Tuesday at Silverdale Library, 3450 NW Carlton
