Washington’s Biggest Wine Tasting Coming Up

Tickets are on sale now for Washington’s biggest wine event of the year: Taste Washington!

More than 200 Washington wineries are scheduled to set up inside the Qwest Field Event Center in Seattle Sunday, March 27.

While you might quickly find your senses overloaded at the thought of 200 of the state’s wineries pouring three to four of their best wines, be not afraid. The beauty of an event like this is, you can do some research ahead of time, write down some of the wines you’d like to try and stick to your game plan once you walk through the doors.

This is a great opportunity to try many of the wines you’ve read about — or passed while walking the wine aisles at the store, but just haven’t committed to buying.

I’m obviously not going to list all of the wineries planning to be at the event, but some of our local Bainbridge Island winemakers are on the list to attend.

For more event information visit the Washington State Wine Commission’s Taste Washington! website. Tickets are $75 for General Admission; $125 for VIP access; or 2 for $240. The VIP ticket includes an extra two hours of wine and food tasting and are limited to 1,000.

Ticket prices include all wine and food samples.

The Grand Tasting schedule is from 2 to 4 p.m. for the VIP tasting, with the doors opening at 4 p.m. for general admission ticket holders. The event runs until 7 p.m. and offers a chance to sample Washington wines and gourmet food from local restaurants.

  1. That’s expensive for only 3 hours worth of tasting! No thanks, I’d rather go to the grocery store and buy half a dozen bottles of wine to enjoy in my own home over the course of a month. :P
