I’ve signed up with an email listserve called Travelzoo to receive regular emails for local deals in the Puget Sound area — as well as great discounts on travel (although more often than not I can’t get away to the exotic destinations, even if they’re offering a great deal).
When I do get discount items that are non-travel related, they’re for Seattle and often for restaurants or entertainment events like upcoming plays/musicals. Imagine my surprise — and excitement — when a deal popped up for wine tasting in Woodinville. And not only is the discount a good one, but the voucher lasts up to one year — even better with my hectic work schedule and my husband’s unpredictable work schedule.
The deal is for two people to do a tasting on either a Friday night, or Saturday or Sunday. It’s good until November 2011, and includes a food pairing, two complimentary glasses of wine and a tour with the winemaker of Covington Cellars — located in Woodinville. (Address: Covington Cellars, 18580 142nd Ave NE, Woodinville, WA 98072; Phone: (425) 806-8636).
Here’s the highlights of the deal:
- For $39, two people will each enjoy a wine flight of 4-5 wine tastings, served with artisan small plates prepared by the chef
- Experience an exclusive tour of the winery, led by the winemaker and complete with samplings from the barrels
- These fine wines garnered excellent reviews from Robert Parker of The Wine Advocate
- Also, sip two complimentary glasses of wine
This is offered for a limited time, and according to the website as of Sunday afternoon, there were 4 days, 23 hours and 30 minutes left to purchase. To see the full details of the Travelzoo offer, visit the website.
