Special Ed Records To Be Destroyed

Here’s a note from the Bremerton School District that’s kind of interesting:

If you were born in the year 1932 through 1979, and you believe you may have special education records with the Bremerton School District, you will have the opportunity to receive your records before they are destroyed. Please call Special Services at 360.473.1008. We will need 48 hours to research and retrieve records. Records will be destroyed as of July 1, 2008. Records can be picked up at:
Bremerton School Administration Building
Special Services Department
134 Marion Avenue N, Bremerton, WA 98312

  1. my concern here is whether or not they’ve copied these records. it’s extremely easy, if time consuming, to scan things, and if these people aren’t doing that before destroying these records, they should take a good long think about changing professions from record keepers to waste disposal specialists. Since computers have become so widely available, there is NO NEED whatsoever to permanently destroy any records of any kind, and to do so deprives every single person on earth now and in the future to ignorance. true, it may be ignorance about “special ed” kids from 50 years ago, but how can anyone judge what information MAY be important later?
    just my buck fifty.
