Welcome to the Bozeman Blog
Well,I have decided to enter the world of blogging. Who would have ever thought. Certainly not me. But I have decided to give it a try for several reasons.
One is my belief that very few people understand the mission of the Port of Bremerton and as the new CEO of the Port I feel it is important to communicate the goals of our organization and to report our progress on those goals just as I did when I was the Mayor of Bremerton. Our mission is clear , to bring good paying jobs to Kitsap County and to increase the economic opportunties for the citizens who chose to live in this great community. Job creation is # 1 and always will be as long as I am the CEO.
But as the former two-term mayor of the City of Bremerton I will also use the blog to comment on other issues that I believe are important to our community. I will not use this blog to beat up on folks or question their motives, but to make constructive comments that I believe will lead to making our community a better place to live, work, and raise our families.
I want to encourage a dialog with readers of the blog, but I want it to remain civil. I don’t care to contribute to the shouting and hostility that too often characterize our public debate. I may publish some anonymous comments, but not if they attack another person or if they are of a nature that if you want to say it, you ought to be willing, in my opinion, to put your name to it.
Remember, I’m new at this, and I’ll be figuring out out the best way to manage it as I go along. But I do hope you’ll read it and find it interesting.

This blog is written and moderated by Port of Bremerton CEO Cary Bozeman.

Cary, what is happening now re the youth wellness center that Holl was working on? And the childhood obesity summit that was being planned? Have you passed those issues on to others to carry out now? They would be very positive for the community.

Good on you. Why not start with your recent appearance on Catching Bytes radio to get some dialogue going.

Cary,
Congrats on your new blog and your new position with the Port.
We are excited that you are coming to the North Mason Chamber membership luncheon to be our speaker.
With the Belfair UGA bordering on Kitsap County and less than 4 miles from the Port, we are very eager to hear your plans for bringing jobs to the area. Our members will enjoy an update on the SKIA project and other plans that will impact the region.
See you at 11:30 on the 23rd of September at the Theler Community Center in Belfair. Should be a good crowd.

“…childhood obesity summit …”
What is the story behind the summit? Will it happen this year? When?
