Police Blotter: Sleepy driver flips his carJune 26th, 2012 by tristan baurick
This week, a driver nodded off and banged his Infinity off a Subaru. His car rolled but no injuries were reported.
The blotter is below.
Crash: Malfunctioning brakes caused a taxi van driven by a Suquamish man to veer off Winslow Way, drive over a front lawn and crash into a hedge at about 11:30 a.m. No injuries or citations.
Theft: A Bainbridge woman’s wallet was stolen from her purse while she was working at the Furnish Bainbridge business on Winslow Way. The theft likely occurred during the morning while the woman’s purse sat near her desk. The wallet, valued at $75, contained money cards and identification.
Found: An officer on patrol found a football “in decent shape” sitting in the parking lot of Ace Hardware just before 1 a.m. It was placed in evidence.
Crash: An 18-year-old Bainbridge man was cited for inattentive driving after he injured another driver in a crash on Miller Road just after 2:30 p.m. The man said he may have fallen asleep, causing his Infinity sedan to veer into the oncoming lane. His car rolled onto its roof after it struck a Subaru Forrester car driven by a Bainbridge woman. She reported abdominal and neck pain but declined medical transport. The Infinity driver suffered no injuries. Both vehicles were towed.
