Police are asking for help in finding thieves who stole more than $6,000 worth of property, including guns, from a Tolo Road home on Wednesday.
The burglars forced their way through a back door sometime during the day and ransacked the home.
They stole two rifles and a handgun from a gun safe. Also stolen were a laptop computer, rolls of coins, electronic games and controllers, BluRay DVDs, baseball gloves and bats, and binoculars. The total value of the items is more than $6,000, according to a police report. Backpacks taken during the burglary were apparently used to carry away the goods.
Anyone with information is asked to call Bainbridge Island Police detectives at (206) 842-5211.
Lab tests have shown that gun safes are much more effective when actually locked.
