Kitsap Sun tells Inslee to “stay out of our pea-patches”

The Kitsap Sun’s editorial board today told Congressman Jay Inslee to plant his community garden money somewhere else.

Inslee, as outlined in a previous post, wants to create a federal grant program to help establish and maintain community gardens.

The editorial board argues that community gardens are best left to communities.

“Simply put, community gardens are working well because they’re grass roots, and they’re a good idea.

More to the point, they’re a good idea Congress should leave alone.”

  1. Keep the government out of your pea patch and back pocket. Good editorial from Sun gang. Did Mr. Nelson send a copy to Jay Who? Hope so — or at least an electronic copy.

  2. I find it funny that JO refers to Jay Inslee as “Jay Who?”. Whenever we are sitting around at the Planet telling funny stories and JO’s name comes up and one of the cub reporters asks, “Jimmy who?”, and someone will say, “You know. The guy with the signs,” and the cub reporter invaribly says, “Oh THAT guy.”

  3. I like it.

Hey Jimmy Who, I was thinking about your signs the other day. Since you love the Bush doctrine, I think Bainbridge should follow suit and create a “free speech zone”. We’ll give you a small patch somewhere for your signs. The rest will be removed and sent to Gitmo.

  4. “Bainbridgeclearcut” has come up with more names to call Jay Inslee. (click onto ‘Inslee Wants Feds…’ under ‘Bainbridge Island headlines, to the right of this column). While federal funds are not needed for BI pea-patches (in my opinion), Bainbridgeclearcut does a dis-service to our community with his childish name calling, and while complaining seems to be single-handedly taking the ‘civil’ out of civil discourse. He is not a representative of this community, in my opinion, except perhaps amongst his own cabal of “..Moon is made of green cheese..” believers. While his frequent posts cause some of us to smile, it is usually without humor, and for the most part, the only thing he seems to produce besides frequent posts and home-made signs, is anger. Most residents do not respond to his posts for fear of agitating him further, or they have long ago dismissed him as nothing more than a ranter and a raver. Having been on the receiving end of a few of his diatribes, I am not yet able to completly dismiss him. To me, he is like a small, irritating mosquito that is just able to stay out of the way of the fly swatter. Friends tell me to ignore him and he will go away, but, like a small, irritating mosquito, he can be pesky, and at times warrants a swing of the swatter. His chosen name, Bainbridgeclearcut, says quite a bit about the disdain and contempt that he appears to hold for Bainbridge Island and the majority of the people who live here, and causes many of us to wonder why HE doesn’t move to one of the countries he is so fond of suggesting that others move to.

  5. I read in the Kitsap Sun that Jay Who is sooooo busy during his Congressional summer break that a town-hall meeting is out of the question. A public forum would be a great opportunity for Cong. Jay Who to explain this pea-patch porker program. Let’s put pressure on Prius Jay to meet with we simple folk here on Our Island. And of course the unwashed from Bremerton are welcome to attend since it is their money on the table.

  6. Tristan Baurick — how about you keep your Bainbridge Conversation “blog” civil. You have have had no problem not posting any responses from me. Have your devotees clean up their act. Could this be why your site in near dormant?

Here are the posts ~~ clean up your anonymous freaks.

  7. James Olsen-It is my belief that this site, however Mr.Baurick chooses to oversee it, usually works best in the ‘self-cleaning’ mode, a mode I believe you yourself have endorsed, although I may be wrong about this. The fact that you have written under many anonymous names sort of negates your demand that this site , “clean up your anonymous freaks.” When someone acts (writes) like you have been known to in the past, there are usually one or two of us out here that will point out the error of your ways. In the early days of my own blogging experience, my first two posts concerning you and your chosen way of attacking and mocking individuals, (me in particular), were not printed because they were deemed too harsh and too personal, and I’m glad that those posts were not printed.
If you do not want to be called on the carpet, there is an easy way to avoid it. Do not mock or belittle or call others names, or you should expect nothing less in return. Quite frankly, I don’t care what you write, and while I usually enjoy it when you go over the edge, what you write is none of my business, but when you exceed the boundaries of common courtesy in a public forum, you will probably have to pay the price of admission.

  8. Perry Whitie: on this site all comments by me are using my name. And most of your rant is against free speech. Unlike silly perry whitey (aka CB), my comments are made and I stand by them. The fact Jay Who is called out goes with the terrain but apparently perry can’t handle that.

You are one of the fascistic thought police who can’t handle opinions that don’t comport with your anonymous freakish behavior.

The fact a fiction, like Perry Whitie, get criticized, must cause tremendous trauma to you. Was it the charge of being a freak that got under your skin? Or was it the fact someone criticized little victim Jay Who?

I repeat my charge to Tristan Baurick and David Nelson:

“Tristan Baurick — how about you keep your Bainbridge Conversation “blog” civil. You have have had no problem not posting any responses from me. Have your devotees clean up their act. Could this be why your site in near dormant?

Here are the posts ~~ clean up your anonymous freaks.”

  9. Dear James, Comcast Customer, Bainbridgeclearcut, Thucidides(sic), etc. etc. etc., Like I said, I really enjoy it when you go over the edge.

  10. Perry Whitie — is this a man crush you suffer from? You should stalk someone of your type my man/woman/it. Don’t ask: don’t tell. On Baurick’s site my posts are under my name unlike you freak anonymous. As to freakish terror from Perry Whitie, get a grip. There is counseling available. Contact Jay Who and tell him you want front-of-line Dem priority for our new Obamabadcare.

I also sign my letters to the editors that go to 16,000 +. Yet to see freaky Perry Whitie in the papers, except perhaps as a lame by-line. Is that you bitv longe-lizard Acid Blotter still licking your self-inflicted wounds? ( YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYqzUL3awgk)

Again Baurick, buck it up: “Tristan Baurick — how about you keep your Bainbridge Conversation “blog” civil. You have have had no problem not posting any responses from me. Have your devotees clean up their act. Could this be why your site in near dormant?

Here are the posts ~~ clean up your anonymous freaks.”
