Bainbridge burglary ring suspect arrested in Vegas

pughmugThe final suspect in a burglary ring believed to have stolen more than $250,000 in property has been arrested in Nevada, according to the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office.

Donald L. Pugh Jr. of South Kitsap was arrested without incident by the Las Vegas Metro Police about 7:30 a.m. Monday, the sheriff’s office said.

Pugh was believed to be involved in a burglary ring in North Kitsap and on Bainbridge Island in late 2007 and early 2008 that detectives said involved 100 break-ins and thefts of more than $250,000 worth of property.

A handful of suspects were arrested, charged and convicted in the case, and given sentences of up to 70 months in state prison.

Pugh will first face extradition proceedings in Nevada for residential burglary and three other charges, the sheriff’s office said.
