Edgerrin James released by the Seahawks
In a somewhat surprising move, Edgerrin James was released by the Seahawks today.
ESPN’s Mike Sando has this story, which indicates that the cut was a result of the Seahawks lack of competitiveness this year. He also points out that with the increased performance of Justin Forsett and the addition of former UW RB Louis Ranking the ball carrier, they would get more bang for the buck by terminating Edge’s contract.
I have agree that this is a good move for the Hawks, given that no rushing TDs have been scored by the Hawks since week 1. Their primary focus should be on the offensive line, however.

I agree, good move, I don’t know why they brought him in, in the first place. If you have NO offensive line to block, why waste money?

Also why would they sign WR Mike Hass? Don’t they have enough WR’s already?

Can you say Franco Harris? Patrick Ewing? Bringing in old Hall of Famers at the twilight of their careers do nothing but possibly sell a few more tickets. Not worth it. Just don’t bring Shaun Alexander back . . . I’d sign Larry Dixon from Olympic High! He’s already better than all of them and he can score touchdowns (up to 6 a game).

This season is over. Go young and cheap and put your effort into the draft board. At least we have Tampa Bay coming to town, so 3-13 is looking more likely. Our special teams coverage is horrendous and there is no running game. We have the best run defense over the last five or six games and a great kicking game (kickoffs, field goals and punts)and decent pass rush and coverage. Just too many turnovers and the drives (without a running game)are too short, killing our time of possession and leaving the defense on the field for too long. Look what happens when someone like Peyton Manning gets ahold of a defense for that long . . .

I like the Hass signing, he is a Steve Lagent like reciever, with the heart and passion to play the game that we need
